Davis® Math Mastery Program
Who should join?
Clients who have challenges in mathematics or diagnosed as Dyscalculia, and are considered suitable to undergo Davis® Math Mastery Program by our consultant after the screening consultation.
How long does it take?
To achieve the best result, the program should be conducted intensively for 30 to 48 hours over 5-8 consecutive days.
It includes 3 hours of follow-up sessions.
The program includes four elements, namely the Davis Orientation Counseling, Davis Concept Mastery, Davis Math Function Exercise and Symbol Mastery.
Davis Orientation Counseling teaches the client how to recognize and control the mental state that leads to distorted and confused perceptions of letters, words and numerals. Through a simple mental technique, the client learns to turn off the thought processes that cause misperceptions and restore their minds to a relaxed and focused state, suitable for reading and other studies. This allows the client to build the conceptual skills to overcome problems stemming from dyscalculia.
Concept Mastery teaches client concepts which includes:
Time (without the concept of time, math will continue to be a problem)
Sequence (working with math in symbols requires understanding sequential steps)
Order/Disorder (putting math into symbols requires that the numerals be in their proper places, proper positions and proper conditions)
Davis Math Function Exercise is a 12-step math program which includes the basic concept of order, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, the base ten system of numerals, decimals.
Davis Symbol Mastery helps client to master the non-pictorial words like and, if, as and other words used in math which help client to apply the core parts of mathematics into word problems.
